IRONMAN© 70.3 Calgary

Calgary, AB, Canada

August

With more than 10 years of hosting the race, Paul Anderson knows what he’s doing for this race.  This is a solid race that offers a single transition on a flat and fast course.  Beautiful scenery and an amazing run course. The three turn swim course is well marked, but you have to do two loops of it.  There is sand at the swim start and swim out before you get to T1.  This is freshwater so no need to worry about the taste of the water.  The time of year for this race allows athletes to still have other races after this one, but still taper for it or train through it for a bigger race in the fall.  When looking at the athlete guide, the map of the bike course can be a bit confusing, but don’t stress it, its super simple.  The finish area is a small walk away from transition, but something to consider when parking.

Would I do this race?  Yes
