IRONMAN© 70.3 Hawaii

Kohala Coast, Hawai`i

June

This is an absolute must for all athletes.  Riding on the same highway that the athletes in the world championship get to ride on.  The swim and run courses are different as well as the transition area, but still, it’s Hawaii.  As I talked with the athletes who did this race, I realized that running on a golf course is actually harder than what it sounds like.  There are unmarked potholes and the heat paired with humidity of the ocean on grass is killer.  The athletes that do this race are able to get a real feel of what it’s like to do the race in Kona without the qualification and doing the full course either.  It’s wonderful.  I’d do this race in a heartbeat.

Would I do this race?  Yes
