IRONMAN© 70.3 Muncie

Muncie, Indiana

July

This mid-west race features an out and back bike and run.  The swim is a three turn swim. The swim is set up in a way that athletes will swim directly into the sun on the way back to transition.  Kind of annoying, but doable.  The bike course is simple and out and back.  The quality of the road here is decent and not too bad.  The aid stations have Gatorade and the support on the course is great.  Parking across the street from the transition area is a small costs, but worth it.  This race is known for having a small town feel of a big race.  The humidity is something to pay attention to but that’s the same with most mid-west races. The elevation gain on the bike and the run is something that isn’t too bad, you can train hills or not and be fine, but still need to pay attention to your effort levels on this race.

Would I do this race? No.  Only because I don’t want to go to Indiana. (sorry not sorry)
