This is an interesting race. I say that because of the title sponsor is actually part of the race course. The swim can be very rough on the lake in June. It can also be wetsuit legal or in 2018, optional. This is a solid course for a PR, well supported race, and a fun course. The looped run through the complex is great, not a big challenge so even for first timers, this is a great course. For athletes doing this race the first time, lodging is not that expensive in comparison to other than races. The fun part of the course is obviously the finish, but you need to be prepared for the heat, potential rough water, and a beautiful course
Would I do this race? No, only because of the location.
