I conclude my journey through the IRONMAN© World Championship sponsored by Amazon with my friend, coach, and wonderful person Rebecca McKee. Rebecca came on earlier this year and we dove into many aspects of her training and mindset going into this race. She is the coach of the talented athlete Tom Deakins who completed the Fire & Ice 250K race in Iceland. In this episode we talk about how anxiety and stress impacted her on race day and even the week of the race. Changing kits days prior to the race should not be the norm, but there were a few situations where it is suggested. The Jelly Fish in Kona this year were furious and we discuss what happened to her and how this affected her going into the race. Her bike strategy is defiantly unique and with her confidence level and knowing the Queen K, she uses this to her advantage.
