The Moab 240 Endurance Run in 2019 was Wes Ritner’s eighth race longer than 200 miles. It was also, arguably, his worst performance in any of them. He’d finished the same race a year earlier in a tie for second place, and with a time that was 18 hours faster than his 2019 time. After facing and overcoming the lowest point of any race he’d ever run, and after dropping to 50th place in a field of 115 runners, he was able to stage a comeback and finish in 11th place.
